It's Pumpkin Patch Time!

Recently both kids got to go on field trips to pumpkin patches. Ethan went to a local pumpkin patch and Aidan went to a pumpkin patch in Petaluma. (Aidan's field trip will be in another post.)
Ethan's class rode the bus to the local pumpkin patch. All dressed in their tie-dye field trip shirts, the children arrived at the pumpkin patch full of excitement. The first thing on the agenda was the petting zoo, but since it wasn't set up yet, the owner of the pumpkin patch took the kids over to the barn and let them select one squash from several varieties that they had. I was hoping he'd pick an acorn squash or butternut squash . . . he selected an interesting two tone squash. He and his friend Tyler were very excited about their selections.

By the time they got done there, the petting zoo was set up and ready to view. They got to pet a very soft and fluffy rabbit . . . .

. . . a goose . . .

. . . a sheep . . .

and a calf.

After that we headed out to the field to select a pumpkin. Grab a red wagon and off you go!

Ethan is obviously into the interesting shaped pumpkins. :-)
